Go Huntington!

Hey guys! So today was big trivia day. We started out with a near perfect score in the first half. Then everything went wrong. First, the place where the tournament was held, had no air conditioning and there were about 60 people in this small room together. It was also very hot outside so before we were even halfway done I felt like I was going to either throw up or pass out, it was bad. At that point we were missing more questions as well. To give a little background this was a statewide tournament and they were asking the same questions to teams in two other cities in out state. To make a long story short, we did not place in the money. The good news is, two of the teams from our town placed! One got first and the other got third so that was pretty awesome. Then a couple hours after that, we went to the Bahnhof to have dinner with one of our friends who is moving out of town. That was very fun. They had a new honey custard cake dessert that was fabulous. Then after that we just cruised around for a bit and then took a walk through the park since it was still really warm outside. We talked about a few things that have been bothering me like the whole house issue, and the whole where is my life going thing that I feel like I will always struggle with. I have a general idea of what I want out of my life, but how I’m going to balance all of those things together in reality is what continues to puzzle me. I’ve written about this before, but my thoughts always get deep like this when my period is about to start lol. It’s like a reminder, hey, time is not standing still, you have to figure this shit out! It’s really sobering and at times very depressing. I think the depression is also its own period symptom I deal with though. It’s hard enough for me to think straight right now as it is, but its like there’s a negative spin on everything that comes to mind. It sucks. Other than that, it was a wonderful night. We stopped a few times to talk to some of his friends we saw along the way. We also saw one of his friends that’s been a friend of my family’s for a while now and it was nice to catch up with him. We just got back to the house a few minutes ago. We have work in the morning, but we don’t go in until 11 so its not a big deal to go to bed a bit late. I’ve also realized that I really have to remember to choose my battles when it comes to what I let stress me out. If I end up tired in the morning, it does not matter because I will be tired in the morning no matter how much sleep I get lol its just my personality. I’ve learned that it helps a lot to be able to let some things go. On that note, I have to get some things done before bed, so I will be back tomorrow. Bye Guys!

Plans and Disappointments

Hey guys! So first I wanted to apologize for not posting yesterday. What happened was, I planned to just do a post with a bunch of cute pics from the game I am playing, but then I found out my stupid chrome book does not support regular sized SD cards! This is just the latest disappointment I have learned about my chrome book. It does not support any software a windows computer does. It gets really frustrating, but I can’t complain too much, because this is my fault. I got this chrome book from a reward program at work for free, and stupid me, did not do enough research about which computer to get. I was just so excited about getting a computer again, I just got the first one I saw. I’m seriously considering getting a little windows laptop as well, but then I would kind of feel stupid for having two computers. I keep going back and forth on that. Anyways lol, by the time I learned I could not upload my pics, it was way too late and I honestly could not think of anything else to write about. Today though, I have some exciting news. We have a ton of stuff planned for the next few weeks. First, we have our local comic book convention. That is set for June 3rd and I am so excited. We even took the day off work so I can really spend some time there. Normally when we go to conventions we can only look around for a minute because we have to do other stuff. I’ll be posting my haul from the con that night. Hopefully, I will be able to get this vintage Rosie O’Donnell Barbie that a vendor had last year. I know it sounds silly, but its something I have never seen before, and I love Rosie O’Donnell, so hopefully they bring it again. Then June 8th is Tommy and I’s  3 year anniversary. He is really bad with dates so I hope he remembers lol. Either way, we will do something special. Then just a couple days later on the 11th, we are attending a Beer and Tater Tots festival in Columbus OH. When our friends first mentioned this, I thought they were joking. They were not. So while I don’t drink beer, I am a huge fan of Tots, so I’m pretty excited. Plus any excuse to go to Columbus is good enough for me lol. It might just be that living in a small city, I enjoy being in a bigger city(because I’m a huge city person), but I really think that its something about this city. So after that, we are planning to go to a higher stakes trivia game. Right now we just do the two at local places for gift cards. We don’t know where they are having the bigger one, but we do know, first prize is 4,000 US Dollars. If we won, there’s 4 of us including me and Tommy, so that’s a grand a piece. I’m super excited. I hope we win. I also kind of hope its in a city I haven’t been to, because again I love a chance to explore a big city lol. I will be posting pics from that as well, especially if we win. Well I think that’s about all for tonight, I will be back tomorrow, Bye Guys!

I didn’t even have to use my A.K. I got to say it was a good day.

Hi guys! So as you can probably tell today was a good day (and I am a fan of Ice Cube lol) I don’t have too much going on today to write about. We had the training at work again. Its good to have to learn about the new job, but being up at 6 a.m has been pretty rough. I went to bed last night at 11:30 which is super early for me and I still woke up ridiculously exhausted. I guess its just something to get used to until we get our actual schedule lol. Anyway so at work we were told by one of our co-workers to call my grandpa because she is his neighbor and he passed her the message. At first I was super worried thinking something was wrong, because his health is not the best. I tried calling him on lunch but had to leave a message. So when we got home, it was an absolutely beautiful day. I decided to put together a vinegar concoction to kill some of the weeds in my yard and just to do some general cleaning and pruning. So I vinegar soaked all the weeds that have been creeping up from my sidewalk and pulled up the ones that were crowding my roses. As I was doing this, my grandpa called back. I was very relieved to know that he just wanted to talk and there was nothing wrong. About an hour later after I was done with everything he even stopped by the house for a bit, if was very nice. So when it comes to the cleaning up the thing I am very happy about is that, we have this really big unruly honeysuckle bush right in front of our house. It grows out in all directions covering the number on our house and blocking 2 different walkways. As long as I have lived here I have never gotten it completely even, either because of time or just doing other things. Today I finally had the time to get it completely even. I got it well under the house number and out of the walkways and it looks great. I didn’t have time to prune the other hedges just because we had trivia tonight. I also did not plant anything today because I received some very sad news that we are expecting snow this coming Thursday.-_- So I will be waiting until this weekend or just checking the farmers almanac to see when last frost will actually be, before I plant anything. I still plan on pruning the other hedges and doing more weeding throughout the week though. So after my grandpa left we went to the trivia night at Mancinis. We tried their salads for the first time and they are very good. We also took first place! So next week we will have a gift card to spend. So as far as the gardening and yard work I will keep you guys updated and hopefully remember to post some pics after everything is done. Well, I have to get an early start tomorrow, so I will be back. Bye Guys!

Wonderful Day

Hi guys! So today was an interesting day. It started out great. I woke up and made yummy breakfast burritos for me and the BF. We didn’t have any breakfast sausage, but I did fry some potatoes so it was still very filling. I’m probably better off for it too. Meat tends to upset my stomach. Don’t get me wrong I will still eat a hot dog or like meat pizza toppings but a lot of meat in a meal for me doesn’t work. So then after we ate, we left the house because we had to go to the pet store to get worms and dry food for our Sugar Glider. We took her with us in her pouch. One of the best things about her is that she has no problem with loud noises. You would think with such a small animal it would be an issue but she’s great about it. So we went to the pet store and then we went to the BF’s sisters house because she had some toys from her other gliders to give us. That was pretty fun, his sister is really sweet. We couldn’t stay long because we had to get to trivia by 7 and traffic had held us up a bit. So I explained the Tuesday trivia but Thursday trivia is a little bit different. The game works the same but it’s a different environment. This one is at the Gino’s Pizza Pub. If you’re not familiar, its a pizza parlor with like a game room in the back for kids parties. A lot of the games are fun for adults too. My favorite is the guitar hero. Granted it takes twice as many tokens to play than the others, but its worth every token. I had several versions of the home console guitar hero over the years. It’s by far one of my most favorite video games. Anyway, we made it to the pub and our usual friend was there for the trivia, but to our surprise, some of the BF’s other family was there to celebrate his nieces birthday! It was wonderful to see them. We were able to play trivia as usual and also spend some time with family. He has a huge family they are all wonderfully sweet. They also helped with some of the questions. It was a great game. We finished second. I also finally got to try the new Henry’s hard grape soda. It was great, I really love their line of drinks so far. I don’t drink often but when I do it has to be something well flavored lol. So after the game we had to stop by the store because we go back to work tomorrow and with such a long day I hate going to the store on a work night. So at the store we picked up a cake because my BF’s birthday was on our last weekend but due to so many of our loved ones passing, we didn’t have the best time so I wanted to celebrate a little. It was a decadent triple chocolate cake, with chocolate fudge icing and double vanilla ice cream. It’s his favorite lol. It was a wonderful way to end our night and our weekend. Well its getting late here so I will be back tomorrow. Bye Guys!

Hi guys! So before I get into my day , I just wanted to say a huge thanks because I got my first views and my first follower today! It means a lot to me, so thanks guys! I have had a really good day today overall. It was the first day of my weekend so automatically its 100 times better than a work day. I spent the first half of the day just relaxing, watching YouTube while the BF plays PS4. Then, every Tuesday the BF and I go to a trivia game with some friends at a local pizza spot called Mancinis. If your in the Huntington area you should totally check it out. The food there is really good. As far as the trivia, a lot of the time our team is really good but as far as placing to win, its really hit or miss depending on the topics of the questions they ask. Tonight we took home first place! It was pretty awesome. We also had the ice cream Sunday they serve there, and I love Ice cream so that was awesome  too. Afterwords we had to go to the store so we went to Walmart and did our usual grocery shopping, and thanks to some gift cards I was given at work that I had been saving up, I also, finally got a sewing machine! This is something I haven’t touched on with you guys yet but as of a few months ago I started getting really into youtubers that are making their own clothes or altering ones they have. I don’t have a huge amount of money to spend on new clothes and a lot of the ones I have now do not fit properly in one way or another. So the idea that I could learn to fix what I have and possibly make my own stuff for a lot less than retail really intrigued me. If any of you guys are familiar, I bought a Singer Simple 3337. It was the most affordable with the most features that I could find. I haven’t opened it yet, because its pretty late where I am and I wanted to get this in first. I will keep you guys updated with how this goes as well as my writing and just my everyday stuff. If you are into sewing and have any advice for beginners I am all ears. Thanks guys, I will be back tomorrow, Bye!
